Zach is a Brooklyn based horticulturist, fellow sacred plant lover and caretaker. He has spent over 10 years experimenting with various herbal formulations. Zach has apprenticed under Great Plains herbalist, Ocoee Miller and Joe Hollis of Mountain Gardens, a permaculture Chinese Herbal retreat in Appalachia. In addition to tending the Alchemist Kitchen herb counter, he also works for NewEco Landscapes and tends to the urban gardens at Olmsted, an urban farm-to-table restaurant in Brooklyn.
As a passionate advocate of all matters related to the improvement of NYC's natural environments, Zach has spent the last 5 years building and managing urban gardens and farms around the city, and has participated in sustainability and education initiatives with a variety of organizations.
